The Grant/Foote House

This handsome 6 bedroom Italianate is one of Catskill’s early 19th century examples of a “squared” wood structure farmhouse, and is on the Greene County Historic Register for the significance of local agriculture and mercantile exchange. Original owners John Foote and partner Alexander Grant are credited for being one of the first exporters of apples and pears to Europe. Crates of produce started the journey on the commerce rich Hudson River then transferred to ocean going vessels. This large house was also used as an inn. Original interior details include: woodburning fireplace, wide plank floors, pocket doors and the Dutch cupola that sits prominently atop the structure- all eight windows still easy to open.
